POSTPARTUM DOULA SERVICES

There’s nothing more special than bringing home your brand new baby! Whether it’s your first baby or your fourth, adding a new family member is a big deal. Newborns need your time and attention 24/7, which can be exhausting especially for the moms who just delivered them. Regardless of how you brought your baby into the world (ie vaginally or c-section), it was a major procedure!

With every new birth comes a time of possible changes: physical and emotional healing, family adjustment (including other children and pets), hormonal swings, relationship strains, sleep deprivation, lack of nutritious meals/snacks, low levels of exercise, feelings of loneliness/sadness, confinement or inadequacies, and/or issues with breastfeeding.  All new parents will go through at least a few of these changes, but you don’t need to do it alone!

Postpartum doulas are there to help families adjust to their new normal. We support not only mama while she’s healing, but we’re also there to support dad/partner and any other children.

Not all doulas are created equally though. We all have our own set of specialized skills to further help the family. Here are my special skills that I can offer families:

  • Certified postpartum doula
  • Certified lactation counselor (CLC)
  • Certified infant massage educator (CEIM)
  • Certified pre/postnatal nutrition coach
  • Certified infant, child, and adult sleep consultant
  • Certified health and life coach
  • Certified parenting coach
  • Certified in infant and child mental health
  • Certified in infant/child/adult CPR

Besides all of my above qualifications, I’m also a mama myself! I have four beautiful children ranging in ages between 8-20, including a set of identical twins. I know what it’s like to have many kiddos, I know what it’s like to have two babies at once, and I know what it’s like to have had 3 kids under the age of 3 at one time! I’ve also had a vaginal birth, then a c-section birth, followed by another vaginal birth (ie VBAC). I’ve been a single mom, working full time and going to school part time. I’ve been a stay-at-home mom and now a work-at-home mom. I’m sharing all of these things to show you that “I get you”. I’ve likely been where you are now (or will be soon when you deliver). I have the professional and personal expertise and know-how to help you ease into your new normal as easily as possible!

If you’re wondering what all a postpartum doula does, let me list the general categories…

  • breastfeeding/bottle feeding support
  • education/support to care for your baby (ie bathing, feeding, changing, diapering, swaddling, etc)
  • care for your newborn and other children while you rest, shower, or eat (or tend to your other children)
  • meal/snack preparation, as well as help with future meal prepping/planning
  • reassurance and emotional support
  • help/support with soothing your newborn
  • light housework (ie dishes, children’s laundry folding, general tidying up)

Because of my special skills, I am also happy to educate you about and support you with…

  • breastfeeding support, including help with latching, pumping, hand expression, or anything else
  • how to perform infant massage on your baby for better bonding, less crying, and more
  • basic understanding of newborn sleep so you can set your baby up for future sleep success
  • nursery assessment to ensure baby’s sleep safety
  • tips and tricks for YOUR sleep
  • your postpartum diet, either with or without breastfeeding
  • stress/anxiety management
  • exercise/activities for you as you heal
  • time management for juggling all that you now have to do with your newborn, other children, pets, household, work, etc
  • parenting tips to help your other children adjust to their new sibling

TESTIMONIALS:

Ronee is wonderful and I highly recommend her services! She helped us understand so much, such as sleep for our baby, as well as other things like nutrition, breastfeeding and just all around great information. My baby is doing so much better overall after having her as my postpartum doula.

Aurora

Mama of 2 week old girl

Ronee was such a wonderful resource for us! We are first time parents with so many questions, and it was really nice to have someone to ask them all to without feeling like a burden. Ronee had great information to share, and we loved being able to go back and review what we talked about later with the online documents. We appreciated the organization at a time when we felt like our lives were turned upside down. And I have to say that we both loved the infant massage part way more than we ever thought we would! So thank you for teaching us what to do!

Caitlyn & Peter

Parents of 7 week old daughter

I just want to say THANK YOU, even though it doesn’t feel like it’s enough! You have helped me more than I could have ever hoped for! I especially appreciated the conversations about c-section recovery, what to eat while breastfeeding, HOW to get a good latch (I had one tricky baby), and how to do infant massage. Since you have twins too, I felt like you really understood my struggle. I also loved having the extra pair of hands available! So again THANK YOU SO MUCH!
